Delete Your Account

We respect your right to control your data. If you wish to delete your Polylingo account, this page explains what data will be removed, how to initiate the deletion, and what to expect.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you delete your Polylingo account, the following data will be permanently removed from our servers:

  • Your account profile (email address, display name, anonymous ID)
  • All language preferences, CEFR level settings, and reading interests
  • Your entire phrase book (saved words and phrases)
  • All reading progress and history across all books and stories
  • Any ebooks or content you uploaded to the Service
  • App settings and preferences (theme, font size, TTS speed)

How to Delete Your Account from the App

You can delete your account directly within the Polylingo app:

  1. Open Polylingo and go to Settings
  2. Scroll down to the Account section
  3. Tap "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted. This action cannot be undone.

Request Deletion via Email

If you are unable to access the app or prefer to request deletion by email, you can contact us directly. Please include the email address associated with your account (if applicable) so we can locate and delete your data.

Please include "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line. We will process your request and confirm deletion within 30 days.

Deletion Timeline

Account deletion is processed within 30 days of your request. During this period, your account will be deactivated and inaccessible. After 30 days, all data is permanently removed from our servers and cannot be recovered. Note: If you have an active subscription, please cancel it through your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) before deleting your account to avoid future charges.

Important Notes

  • Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data, including your phrase book, reading progress, and uploaded content, will be irreversibly deleted.
  • If you have an active premium subscription, deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. You must cancel your subscription separately through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Anonymized, aggregated usage data (which cannot identify you) may be retained for service improvement purposes, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
